I’ve decided to make it a point to share the different artists who inspire me. And I’d like to start with Fran Ferriz, my favourite character designer!
Well let’s start with the text book definition – Fran Ferriz is a designer specialising in 2D and 3D characters, graphic and industrial design.Presently working as a product manager, working in creative direction for the Spanish toy company Famosa. He also works in the video game industry with the company Devilish games and has won a few awards for this work in innovation and design.
I love the cute yet slightly twisted and sweet things his characters are. And for some reason when I look at each one of them I find myself imagining their back stories, which I believe to be one of the necessities when creating characters. I personally suck at character design though, not enough imagination. but I do hope to get better at it.
And people like Franz keep me pushing myself. In everything I’m trying to do.

I definitely hope I can get in some character designs in some future projects. I might actually work on it through a personal project.
